# Takelan Omnigate

> Put a web app, an API, a TCP or UDP service or a folder of files on the internet under a public name, with TLS and access rules, without opening a port.

Canonical: https://tnl.tkln.dev/info

## What it does

You run one small program, the client, next to your app. It connects out to a relay. Visitors reach your app at a public name such as `shop.example.net`; Takelan handles the certificate, the routing and the access rules.

- Web tunnels over HTTP/1.1, HTTP/2 and HTTP/3, with WebSocket.
- Raw TCP and UDP tunnels.
- Access rules, visitor passwords and a request log for every tunnel.
- Takelan-hosted relays, or private relays that you run yourself.

## Frequently asked questions

### What is Takelan Omnigate?

Takelan Omnigate makes a program on your machine (a web app, an API, a TCP or UDP service or a folder of files) reachable on the internet under a public name, with TLS and access rules. You run one small client next to your app; Takelan runs the public side.

### Do I have to open a port or change my router?

No. The client connects out to a relay, so nothing has to accept connections from the internet on your network.

### Which protocols can I publish?

HTTP and HTTPS (HTTP/1.1, HTTP/2 and HTTP/3, including WebSocket), and raw TCP and UDP tunnels.

### What is a private relay?

A relay that you run on your own server. Your tunnels can be served through it, so the traffic goes straight through your relay, while Takelan keeps managing names, certificates and configuration. [Read how private relays work](https://tnl.tkln.dev/info/private-relays).

### Is there a free plan?

Yes. Free is available today. Personal, Pro, Business and Enterprise are coming soon. See [pricing](https://tnl.tkln.dev/pricing).

### Can I see who visits my tunnels and limit who can?

Yes. Each tunnel has allow and deny lists, rate and connection limits, visitor passwords and a request log, and you can turn on a request inspector. See the [feature list](https://tnl.tkln.dev/info/features).

### How do I get help or ask a question?
